Privacy policy
This document sets out our privacy commitment to the DailyRoads users’ personal and public data. We respect the privacy of our users, and recognize the importance of the information they entrust to us. We have created this document to summarize the basic information policies and practices, and to help you understand how we treat such information.
Personal Information
Any information you provide us during registration, is only used to provide our services. We collect the email address and certain personally identifiable information of those who communicate with us. Your email address is not displayed on the site to anyone. Only in the case you win a contest and choose a prize, your email address is sent to the contest sponsor for awarding you the prize.
You will be identified only by your DailyRoads username, which is shown to anybody you interact with, or who views your profile or any of the content you create. To protect your account information, please keep your password secure.
We may also occasionally collect our users’ IP addresses and information regarding the use of our website and services. We may use such IP addresses to help diagnose problems, track page views and - if necessary - deny service in accordance with our Terms of Use, or comply with legal requests of the authorities.
The information we collect is not shared with, or sold to, other organizations, unless we have your permission, or under the following conditions:
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Should we ever do so, we will comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
Publicly Available Information
When you create a DailyRoads account, some information about you and your account activity will be provided to other users of DailyRoads. This includes the date you registered, country, state and any other location information you choose to make public.
You may also choose to add personal information which may include your name, profile pictures or other details, that will be visible to other users on your DailyRoads profile page. If you choose to add certain features to your DailyRoads profile page, then these features and your activity associated with these features will be displayed to other users and may be aggregated and shared with your friends or other users. Such shared activity may include your favourite or rated videos, photos, events, and the prizes you won.
Any content you submit to DailyRoads may be redistributed through the Internet and other media channels, and may be viewed by other DailyRoads users, or the general public. You are fully responsible for all the content you submit, and DailyRoads can not be held responsible for any content our users store in their accounts.
Currently, uploaded video/photo files can be set as private. After 1 July, 2012 any uploaded file may be displayed to others, but without any audio or textual identification (username, title, description or tags). This means that only your identity, in-video conversations and the texts you specify can be private, but not the video/photo content itself. If there is anything in the video/photo you don't want others to see, please do not upload, or delete from our system (if already uploaded).
